Nigerian recording artist Obelomo is preparing to release his new single, “Party Errday,” on November 6, 2026, as he continues to develop his sound and build his presence within the Nigerian music scene.
The upcoming release introduces a more celebratory atmosphere to his musical direction, drawing from his influences across Afrobeats, R&B and rock while maintaining the expressive approach that has shaped his artistry.
According to information shared ahead of the release, “Party Errday” originated from an unexpected creative moment. While his team was caught in traffic, an encounter with a beat sparked an idea that eventually developed into the record. What began spontaneously in an unusual setting became the foundation for a song centred on energy, enjoyment and embracing the moment.
Rather than marking a complete departure from his previous work, the single builds on Obelomo’s existing musical direction, offering another expression of his evolving sound.
Obelomo’s relationship with music began in childhood, growing up around the sounds of Nigerian acts such as 2Baba and P-Square. He began writing songs in 2016 under the name Squeelz before adopting Obelomo, a name meaning “sweet child,” as he continued developing his artistic identity.
His musical influences extend beyond Afrobeats, encompassing Wizkid, Olamide, Michael Jackson and Freddie Mercury. These varied influences inform his approach to songwriting, which draws on personal experiences, emotional expression and the connection he hopes to establish with listeners.
His releases, including Behind Closed Doors, Far From Home and The Wave, have formed part of his ongoing musical journey, as he continues exploring his sound and expanding his catalogue.
